ABOUT ME

BACP REGISTERED Psychotherapist & counsellor.

I’ve always been interested in people – what we think and feel, and how we behave and interact with each other.

I am a fully qualified BACP registered counsellor with a Diploma (Level 7) in Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counselling from Metanoia Institute, London. I have also completed the Foundation Course in Group Analysis from the Institute of Group Analysis (IGA) and hold an up-to-date DBS certificate.

My clients come from diverse cultural and social backgrounds. In the past, I have provided low-cost charitable counselling and psychotherapy services, a counselling service for teachers working in schools, and worked as a Counsellor in the Psychology and Wellbeing service at a large NHS GP practice in London.

In addition I work with clients using the ‘12 Step Programme’ to address clients’ addictions to alcohol, drugs, gambling, food and eating disorders, sex, and other related issues.

Before training to be a therapist, I lived abroad for many years working in the eco-travel sector, and prior to that in financial services in London.

I am increasingly curious about the relationship between humans and the natural world and the emerging practice of ‘eco-therapy’ – improving mental and physical wellbeing through a connection with nature and our ecological environment.

Code of Conduct - as an individual member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I adhere to the organisations’ Codes of Ethics, maintaining confidentiality and relational boundaries at all times, as well as regularly reflecting on my practice with a clinical supervisor.
